“… it is not important whether it is called a theatre. Such a place is necessary. If a theatre did not exist, another pretext would be found.” (Jerzy Grotowski)
Meeting is a shared space to come together and celebrate, to move through sound to silence, through silence to sound, through movement to stillness, through stillness to movement, through others to the Self, through self to the others, through space to the space less through an empty space.

The essence of ‘Journey’ is to start something. What began in 2002 with an idea and a set of scribbles has culminated into a form of participatory theatre that has erased the line between the stage and the audience. On 26th January, 2015, Bibhaban, in association with Proscenium Art Centre, presented ‘Journey’, an open theatre initiative. Bibhaban rightfully describes itself as “A system for those who love theater, live for theater or perhaps do theater to live
.”
Supriyo Samajdar, the founder of Bibhaban, opined that theatre does not need to be extravagant. It is not about showing off. He also expressed his concern about how the media is slowly taking control over our thoughts and expressions
so much so that we have lost the ability to think and take decisions on our own. Human beings have indeed
become secluded over time and amidst that, ‘Journey’ has provided us with some time to hold our hands in unision.
