MEETING
“… it is not important whether it is called a theatre. Such a place is necessary. If a
theatre did not exist, another pretext would be found.”
(Jerzy Grotowski)
Meeting is a shared space to come together and celebrate, to move
through sound to silence, through silence to sound, through movement to
stillness, through stillness to movement, through others to the Self, through
self to the others, through space to the space less through an empty space. A 6 days theatre encounter with open theatre -exploring the inner aspect of our lives, the communication without social masks, and the relation towards ourselves and others around us, to search for our artistic self.
Few Words About the Open Theatre
The world changes fast. World’s a racecourse, in this troubled times –
lanes and by lanes of uncertainly. Before attempting to answer let’s attempt
what we want to say. I know the question is relative. Theatre is a course in
a priding light.Theatre is a path-breaker, Pathfinder, Path-creator. Human relationship
operates on a different parameter compared to an actor-actor relationship.
There’s of course a differences in relationship between proscenium and
non-proscenium theatre. If isn’t relationship of consumerism branding and
globalization alone. How to cleanse one’s mind the actor’s mind the
performer’s mental landscape from instructs evolves an interactive form.
The process involves artists, film makers, dancers, choreographers, poet,
photographer, vocalist and musician. Theatre let’s now understand is not
only to create a solution of social ills. More importantly let’s understand that
it is primarily mean to cure personal ills. Live people. Live audience, save
illusion.
Open theatre. Realism is staring at your face: The Theatre of cruelty. Actor-
spectator communication. Not doing business with instincts. The personal
talk and realism are being metaphorically illusory. Analyzing the audience:
the Marriage of Life. Theatre. Killing oneself is the way. Creating a better
society. In isn’t about competition, it’s about being competitive through
minds, instincts and more than I, me, myself. It is I, myself and It is us. And
that is open theatre. Open in the sense of unrestricted, accessible, an open
mind, a communion.
OBJECTIVE – The objective of this process is to evolve a way of living,
where we are trying to find some sort of unity, a space where we can live in
the rhythm of life.
METHODOLOGY -The research methodology is the open theatre form,
which has evolve from our 13 years practice through our journey with
various people from different art forms. The centre of the methodology is to
investigate/search the relationship from where a communication evolves.
CONCEPT- Exploring the inner aspect of our lives, the communication
without the social mask, and the relation toward ourselves and others
around us through:
-Working on relationships -Working with baul music – Exploring inner
expression -Working with silence – Search for light
